The map, and the opening hours nobody remembered to change

Your listing details are kept in one place and pushed out from there, so your hours, your address and your phone number agree wherever I set them up.

What arrives

One source
for your hours, your address and your phone number
A change made once
rather than typed again in each place I set up
Holidays and closures
set in advance rather than remembered on the morning
Reviews and questions
surfaced where they were left, rather than found months later
Your listing
filled in properly rather than half-completed and left
Details
only as right as the ones you give me

The details that rot#

Opening hours change for Christmas and change back. A number moves. A business shifts two streets and the old address survives somewhere nobody remembers creating. None of it is anybody's fault and all of it costs, because the customer who drove to the old address does not ring to tell you.

Kept in one place and pushed out from there, they agree. Changed in five places by hand, they diverge within a year, and the one that is wrong is always the one somebody looked at.

Where people leave their opinion#

Reviews and questions get left on the listing rather than on your site, and an unanswered question sits there in public as an answer of its own. Surfaced where they were left, they can be dealt with while they still matter.

The part of this that is not mine to control#

These listings sit on somebody else's shelf. Whether your business is shown to a particular person, and where, is decided by them and not by me - the same as with search, and for the same reasons. What I can do is give them correct and complete information rather than partial.

A change made today does not always appear today, and occasionally one is rejected without an explanation anybody can act on. That is the arrangement, and it is the same arrangement for every business listed.

Some changes also need you personally, because the check exists to prove there is a real business at a real address and it is deliberately not something a supplier can do on your behalf. I will tell you when one is coming rather than let it arrive as a surprise.
