Asking for a change
What counts as part of the ongoing work, what gets quoted first, and how you find out which.
Most changes are just the work#
Wording that is wrong. A step in the wrong order. Something that made sense when we built it and does not now that you have used it for a month.
Those are not a request and they do not get quoted. They are the ongoing work, and asking for one is a message rather than a process.
Some changes are a new thing#
Asking for something the system does not do yet is a different question, and it gets treated like the original build: you find out what it involves before anything starts, and you decide with that in front of you.
You are never charged for something you did not agree to first. That is the only rule here that matters.
How you find out which it is#
You ask, and I tell you. There is no threshold to look up and no category to work out in advance.
If it is a grey area, I will say it is a grey area rather than deciding quietly in my own favour.
