What keeps changing underneath

The rules for being found, what counts as secure, and what a customer expects — none of which announce themselves.

Three things move, and none of them tell you#

The rules for who gets found change several times a year. What counts as a secure setup changes, because the people probing it keep getting better at it. And what a customer expects a business to be able to do changes fastest of all.

None of that arrives as a fault. It arrives as fewer calls, and by the time it is obvious it has been happening for months.

What gets done about it#

Things get replaced underneath you without the business noticing. A piece that stops being the right piece is swapped for one that is, and the only thing that changes on your side is nothing.

No single part of this is irreplaceable, and that is a deliberate design decision rather than a happy accident. It is the reason a change underneath never becomes your problem.
