What happens when something goes wrong
Who finds out, who you contact, and what you can honestly expect from one person.
How it usually surfaces#
Usually the alarm goes first and you never hear about it. Sometimes you notice before I do, because you know what normal looks like in your own business better than any check does.
Either route is fine. There is one person to tell and no ticket to raise.
What you can expect, stated honestly#
You can expect the problem to be understood by somebody who already knows how the thing is built, rather than explained from scratch to whoever picked it up.
You cannot expect a rota of people covering every hour, because there is not one. That is the trade, and it is worth making with your eyes open.
The thing that makes this survivable#
Nothing about the recovery depends on me being reachable. The accounts are yours and the work is in your hands, so on the worst possible day somebody else can pick it up.
That is the answer to this question that actually holds.
